Graphic Ad has finalized their sale of their Humboldt Strong stickers that have been available since the April 6 bus crash.
On July 6, Graphic Ad President Colleen Lessmeister presented a cheque for $23,400 to Humboldt Broncos President Kevin Garinger, which Lessmeister estimates is from around 5,000 stickers in the various sizes.
Lessmeister did not know what to expect from the sticker sales, saying they received a lot of support.
Sales started soon after the Bronco crash on April 6, with the Humboldt based team asking Lessmeister to print up decals in time for the April 8 vigil, and then eventually for the community.
The cause grew from there with people calling from all over North America for decals and stickers.
Local support has also been deeply felt with residents wanting to show their support with stickers for their cars, hardhats, cell phones, and more, said Lessmeister in a press release.
Calls came in from everywhere saying that people were thinking about Humboldt, including suppliers that lent a hand on the production side.
Even with the large sticker amount, Lessmeister says her and her staff just kept on going making sure orders were filled.
Graphic Ad has been a part of the Humboldt Broncos community for a long time, says Lessmeister, so it was only fitting that the money go back to the organization.
Garinger says that the money means a lot because it came from the community.
“It means a great deal for us to be able to use those funds to support the work that we need to do in our organization.”
Stickers are currently still available at Graphic Ad and some fellow retailers who are carrying what remains of their stock of stickers.
