Maidstone RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in determining who was driving the stolen vehicle in the attached picture.
On Dec. 16, at approximately 1 a.m., Maidstone RCMP were called to a break and enter in progress at an oil lease site approximately 15 kilometres north of Maidstone. The suspect(s) fled in a stolen white 2013 Ford F150 4x4 4 door truck with an Alberta plate, damage to driver’s side window with a yellow dirt bike in back of the truck.
After being detected and followed by a security guard, a firearm was discharged into the air through the opened sunroof to discourage the security guard from following the suspect(s) any further.
RCMP members attended and located the vehicle a short distance away in a field, hiding behind a bluff of trees.
The driver of the stolen vehicle repeatedly tried to disable the police vehicle by ramming it. The member took evasive action to avoid the attack, sustaining only minor damage to the police vehicle.
The stolen truck fled and was abandoned on another oil lease site, where it was recovered 12 hours later without the suspect(s).
The white 2013 Ford F150 4x4 truck was reported stolen out of Camrose on Dec. 6.
RCMP believe, over the course of 10 days in both Saskatchewan and Alberta, this vehicle may be involved in other criminal matters, given the behaviour of the suspect(s) involved.
The male suspect is described as 25 years of age, taller and wearing a tan coloured Carhartt coat.
