The annual Battlefords Stuff a Bus campaign finished Oct. 14, with Meadow Lake students collecting more food than the Battlefords for the second year in a row.

The Stuff a Bus campaign is a fundraiser for the food bank. Schools from the Battlefords and from Meadow Lake compete to fill a bus with food donations. An element of friendly competition is added as the two communities compete to see which can raise more food per student.

This year, the 1,889 students of Notre Dame, Holy Family, EMBM, John Paul II, St. Vital and Lawrence collected 1,030 pounds of food. The 1,002 students of the four Meadow Lake schools who participated collected a total of 1,234.5 pounds of food, leaving their Battleford rivals in the soup.
