Battlefords RCMP detachment are investigating a suspicious death in Battleford.
According to a news release from the RCMP, Battlefords RCMP received a report around 1:30 a.m. of an injured male on the 100 block of 26th Street in Battleford.
RCMP and EMS immediately were dispatched to the scene, where they found an adult male suffering serious injuries. The man was transported by ambulance to hospital and later pronounced dead.
The preliminary investigation has determined the death is suspicious in nature, according to police. Several specialized RCMP teams have been deployed to the Battlefords to assist the investigation and will be working to determine what led to the man's death. The RCMP also says residents on the 100 block of 26th Street can expect to see an increased police presence. The public is requested to respect any police barricades and directions given by police officers at the scene.
