Suspicious pine needles reported to police

Battlefords RCMP were called to less than 20 occurrences between 6 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27 and Thursday, Nov. 28. Those calls ranged from child custody issues to break and enter and theft of gas. Wednesday 6:30 a.m.

Battlefords RCMP were called to less than 20 occurrences between 6 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27 and Thursday, Nov. 28.

Those calls ranged from child custody issues to break and enter and theft of gas.

Wednesday

6:30 a.m. - Report of a man violating no contact conditions with alleged victim at/near residence on 101st Street. Matter remains under investigation.

7:19 a.m. - Complaint involving a child custody issue. Matter mediated by responding member.

8:37 a.m. - Theft of up to a dozen garbage bags full of empty bottles and cans from a yard on the 1000 block of 110th Street some time Friday night/Saturday morning.

1:56 p.m. - Report of suspicious foliage found in a back yard on 1600 block of St. Laurent. Complainant advising an oddly coloured pine needle that does not match the other pines in the yard was located.

3:09 p.m. - Theft of gas from Highway 16 Bypass. Suspect vehicle believed to have been a white Ford truck with Alberta licence plates, possible video footage available.

8:51 p.m. - Report of a disturbance at a hotel room on Railway Avenue East. Two intoxicated persons located, one of whom decided to get a cab and left area. Second individual decided to get into an argument with police and was arrested.

9:12 p.m. - Report of suspected gunshots in the area of 11th Avenue and 108th Street. No additional reports made and extensive patrols of area at the time were negative. Unknown what caused noise heard.

Thursday

12:34 a.m. -911 call to a business on 1600 block of 100th Street of a large fight involving over a dozen people. The subjects were arrested on scene for causing a disturbance and held until sober.

3:34 a.m. - Complaint of two unwanted guests to a residence on 1300 block of 106th Street. A 52-year-old woman was arrested for mischief and held in custody until sober. A 43-year-old man was also arrested on scene and will be facing charges of obstruction.

4:27 a.m. - Break and enter to a residence on 1000 block of 108th Street. Suspect, who was known to complainant, entered home and attacked complainant before leaving scene. A 33-year-old man was arrested at a residence nearby for break and enter. No charges being pursued as complainant did not co-operate with police investigation. While being escorted to police cruisers, a 32-year-old woman exited the residence in an apparent attempt to win back the man's freedom. She was arrested for public intoxication. Both subjects to be held in custody until sober.
