Two Northwest skating clubs are participating in this year's SaskEnergy Great Family Skate Day.
Among the 24 clubs signed on for this annual celebration of winter and a timeless family recreational activity are Spiritwood Skating Club and Hillmond Skating Club.
The community focused program encourages a little friendly competition and will put cash in the coffers of participating clubs. SaskEnergy is providing $250 awards to four clubs that make an outstanding effort to create a fun event and involve the community at large.
Spiritwood club is hosting their Family Skate Day Feb. 23, while Hillmond supporters should head to the rink Feb. 29.
SaskEnergy predicts more than 2,100 people will take part in the skates province wide.
