Police are reporting the theft of fuel from a farm located in a rural area near Cando, Saskatchewan.
Battlefords Rural RCMP and the police dog service attended the complaint on Jan. 13 around 11pm.
Unknown individuals in a truck entered a farm yard and fueled up from the standing bulk fuel tanks. Suspects fled the scene, and later abandoned the vehicle to flee on foot. RCMP located the vehicle and discovered it had been reported stolen the previous evening by the City of North Battleford.
The police service dog unit tracked the suspects to a Cando residence and took into custody three youth offenders and one adult male. During the course of the investigation police also recovered a sawed-off shotgun as well as ammunition.
The investigation is ongoing. The four arrested are facing numerous property and firearm related offences.
