Thefts from Paynton area

A number of valuable personal items were stolen from a residence in the Paynton area recently. According to RCMP, on Aug. 31 between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

A number of valuable personal items were stolen from a residence in the Paynton area recently.

According to RCMP, on Aug. 31 between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., unknown suspects entered a rural residence in the Paynton area and made off with a number of valuable and sentimental personal items.

These included: a 1995 Canadian Champion steer wrestling buckle, three National Finals Rodeo ground buckles, a 1995 Cheyenne Frontier Days Champion buckle, Canadian Finals go-round buckles and a CFR average winner buckle a total of 8 Championship buckles rings, knives, and a money clip.

Also stolen was a Black 2010 Dodge Ram Laramie truck  and a 16-gauge shotgun. 

The RCMP is reminding people to ensure they are taking proper security measures and make sure doors are locked to residences, out buildings and vehicles. They are also reminding people to keep firearms in a secure gun cabinet.
