Three people are facing charges following an RCMP raid of a suspected grow operation in the RM of Medstead Friday, Sept. 17 at 11:20 a.m.
Police say a large quantity of marijuana plants, packaged marijuana, cash and firearms has been seized.
Friday, Sept. 23 police reported approximately 700 marijuana plants and approximately 2.3 kiilograms of packaged marijuana were seized, Police say more than $6,000 in cash was also found on the premises.
Investigators are referring to this as a "sophisticated" grow operation. This is the largest amount of marijuana seized this year by RCMP in Saskatchewan in a grow operation setting.
Charged are 44-year-old Cory Graham, 34-year-old Melanie Boulette both from the RM of Medstead area and 43-year-old Oscar Gutierrez-Reyes from Ontario. They are charged with production of cannabis marijuana, possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.
Police say the investigation is continuing and additional charges will be laid for various firearms related offences.
All three accused are in custody and are to appear in provincial court in North Battleford on Monday.
Members of Turtleford detachment, North Battleford Provincial and Municipal GIS, North Battleford PDS, Battlefords detachment, Integrated Organized Crime Unit from Saskatoon, Regina Emergency Response Team and SERM were involved in the investigation.
