A very unstable airmass is setting up over Southern Saskatchewan.

A very unstable airmass is setting up over Southern Saskatchewan. A weak low pressure system tracking northeastward from Southern Alberta is expected to set off severe thunderstorms, which will likely first develop over Southern Alberta then track into the western grainbelt this afternoon and eastward across the northern grainbelt tonight.

Severe thunderstorms are developing this afternoon or early evening over most communities in Northwest Saskatchewan.

At 1 p.m. Monday, The Weather Network issued an alert to the potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds.
