TISDALE — Tisdale council has passed a motion to purchase two Chevrolet Silverado vehicles for $57,553.50 for use as replacement vehicles for the public works department and the parks & recreation department.

For the public works department, the town is purchasing a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ for $36,630.00, for the parks & recreation department the town is purchasing a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado for $20,923.50.

“They were just getting old and kilometred up,” said Brad Hvidston, Tisdale’s administrator. “As trucks age they need to be replaced, we need something reliable for crews to get to job sites.”

The public works departments use the vehicles for on-site transportation including water line and pavement replacement, while the parks & recreation department for public park upkeep.

A total of $60,000 was previously allocated in the 2021 capital budget for the combined purchases.
