Results are in following a razor-tight election held on the Resort Village of Cochin on Aug. 29.
A tie for the fourth and final council spot had to be broken after two candidates, Ricky Young and Ken Hartman, finished with exactly 96 votes. In the end, the returning officer had to direct that the name of the winning candidate be drawn to break the tie, and as a result Young got the fourth council seat over Hartman.
The other council winners were David Stillar with 117 votes, Marcel Caplette with 114 and Peter Wiesner with 111. There was no election for Mayor this year as Harvey Walker was re-elected by acclamation.
