Tornado warning cancelled for Dodsland area

DODSLAND — Update: At 7:20 p.m., the tornado warning for the Dodsland area was cancelled.

At 7 p.m. Central Standard Time Friday, Environment Canada has issued a tornado warning for Southwestern Saskatchewan, along with 100 km/h wind gusts and quarter-sized hail..

Extra care and attention should be exercised in and around the following localities: Kindersley, Loverna, Major, Alsask, Coleville and Dodsland. Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible.

This severe thunderstorm is located near Helston, moving east at 30 km/h. Locations impacted include Gladstone, Helston, Mayfeld and Woodside.
