Trial set in N. B. court for man charged in string of robberies

NORTH BATTLEFORD – A man accused of a string of break, enter and thefts over a six-month period is headed to trial.

The trial for Eugene Bear, 36, is scheduled for Sept. 28 in North Battleford Provincial Court. He faces eight counts of break and enter and commit theft, four counts of break and enter with intent to commit theft, and breaching a release order.

Bear is alleged to have committed the offences from April to October 2021 in North Battleford. Police say the targeted businesses suffered property damage and merchandise loss.

The charges against Bear haven’t been tested in court.
