Guy Turcotte and his family have been frightening Battlefords residents for 12 years with elaborate Halloween displays.
But the displays are not just put up to celebrate Halloween; the Turcottes have used their yearly displays to raise money for a variety of good causes.
Over the last 10 years, the Turcottes have raised just under $17,000 for a variety of charities in town, most recently for the John Paul II Collegiate SADD (Students Against Drinking and Driving) chapter. Last year alone, the Turcottes raised around $1,600, which was used to send students to SADD Saskatchewan's provincial conference.
This year, they hope again to raise money for members of JPII's SADD chapter to attend the Saskatoon SADD conference. The conferences typically feature speakers who have been personally affected by impaired driving.
The display will be assembled at the Turcotte house at 1907 Foley Dr., and will be available for viewing on Halloween from 4 to 10 p.m. The theme?
"I think we're just going to do what we usually do," explained Tammy Turcotte. "As scary as possible."
Those donating more than $10 will be issued a tax receipt.
