Two arrested by Guns and Gangs unit

Two people have been charged after a weapons investigation by the Saskatoon Guns and Gangs unit.

A weapons investigation undertaken by the SPS Guns and Gangs unit has resulted in two arrests.

As a result of the weapons investigation undertaken by the SPS Guns and Gangs unit in the 700 block of 8th Street E., a 30-year-old female and a 23-year-old male from Saskatoon were scheduled to appear in court on several firearms charges in regards to an illegally possessed shotgun that was seized.

Both of the accused were also found to be in breach of previous release conditions.

On July 28, at 5 p.m., officers from the SPS Guns and Gangs Unit with assistance from the SPS Tactical Support Unit, initiated a firearms investigation at a target address in the 700 Block of 8th St. E. By 8:30 p.m., four adults and two youth had been removed from the target address without incident.

The adults were arrested and taken into custody. The youth were released.
