MELFORT— Two individuals have been charged in connection with break and enters throughout Melfort over the last three weeks.
Melissa Shymr, from Melfort, and Taylor Lariviere, from Prince Albert, were arrested following a “physical altercation.”
A police search of their vehicle resulted in officers finding several articles of stolen property, including a large amount of driver’s licences, health cards and credit cards.
Through further investigation, police have been able to link some of the stolen property to several break and enters and thefts in the Melfort area in the last three weeks.
Shmyr, a 24-year-old, has been charged with assault and possession of property obtained by a crime.
Lariviere, a 28-year-old, has been charged with assault, possession of property obtained by crime, identity theft and two counts of break and enter.
Lariviere has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Melfort Provincial Court on March 17, at 9:30 a.m.
Shmyr has been released and is scheduled to appear in Melfort Provincial Court on March 31, at 9:30 a.m.
The investigation is ongoing.
