Two men found in possession of firearm

The North Battleford RCMP detachment received approximately 30 calls for service between 6 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27 and 6 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28.

Included in those calls were five false alarms, one traffic complaint, 11 municipal bylaw or disturbance complaints and two false or nuisance 911 calls.

Wednesday

1:08 p.m. - Report of threats being made to a complainant by a former boyfriend.Investigation is ongoing, charges are currently pending.Suspect in matter has yet to be located.

4:27 p.m. - 31-year-old man arrested for causing a disturbance after complaint of extremely intoxicated man in a public building on 101st Street.

5:20 p.m. - Man arrested for public intoxication after complaint of drunk man knocking on a door on Trudeau Street. Located a short distance away and held in custody until sober.

5:53 p.m. - 49-year-old man arrested for causing a disturbance, very intoxicated and bothering people on 101st Street.

9:03 p.m. - Theft of a Cannondale bike from a yard on 1300 block of 99th Street reported.

11:00 p.m. - 911 call of a fight/argument between two persons in a parking lot off Carlton Trail. All parties spoken to and separated for the night. No injuries, matter found to have been an argument and no charges pursued.

11:32 p.m. - Complaint of two persons in a vehicle on Railway Avenue in possession of a firearm.Members located and arrested two men, 16-year-old and 20-year-old found in possession of an improperly stored rifle in the vehicle.Both have since been released from custody charged with unsafe storage of a firearm.

11:39 p.m. - Report of people checking out/trying to get into vehicles on 900 block of 110th Street.Suspects initially chased away by witnesses.Patrols for suspect completed a short time later were negative.

Thursday

12:45 a.m. - Caller contacted police to advise there was a loud noise keeping her awake.When asked what was causing the noise, caller advised it might just be her stomach.

12:54 a.m. - 42-year-old man arrested and facing one count of failing to comply with an undertaking after a disturbance call at a residence on 112th Street.

5:27 a.m. - 25-year-old man arrested for mischief, complaint of very intoxicated man ringing door bells and trying to get into a vehicle on 111th Street.
