Two more charged in disappearance of man from Humboldt

On March 4, Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes North arrested two more individuals directly involved in relation to the disappearance of 20-year-old Allan Douglas Garrioch. At approximately 5:30 p.m.

The remains of Allan Douglas Garrioch were recently discovered in the RM of Bayne. Five people have been charged.

On March 4, Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes North arrested two more individuals directly involved in relation to the disappearance of 20-year-old Allan Douglas Garrioch.

At approximately 5:30 p.m. Wednesday evening, a pursuit was initiated by the Saskatchewan RCMP Crime Reduction Team after a 2004 blue Jeep Cherokee failed to stop for police. The vehicle and its two occupants were confirmed to be directly involved in the kidnapping and homicide that occurred at Humboldt on Feb. 25.

The pursuit began on a gravel road south of Davis, and continued east on Hwy 3. The pursuit ended in the town of Weldon, approximately 55 km away, when the vehicle became stuck in a ditch. The male driver fled from the vehicle.

Units from surrounding detachments assisted with the pursuit, keeping the vehicle scene secure. Saskatchewan RCMP Police Dog Services also attended the scene and located a 42-year-old male hiding in a bush. A 40-year-old woman was located in the vehicle.

Steven Veilleux (1977-12-22) of Prince Albert was arrested and is facing the following charges:  

· First Degree Murder – S. 235(1) C.C

· Indignity to a Body – S. 182(b) C.C

· Kidnapping while using a firearm – S. 279(1.1(a.1) C.C

· Forcible Confinement – S. 279(2) C.C

· Break & Enter and Commit – S. 348(1)(a) C.C

· Assault with a Weapon – S. 267(a) C.C

· Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose x 2 – S. 88 C.C

· Disguise with Intent – S. 351(2) C.C

· Flight from Police – S. 320.17 C.C

· Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle – S. 320.13(1) C.C

Jodie Lynn Veilleux (1979-11-12) of Prince Albert has been charged with:

· Kidnapping while using a firearm – S. 279(1.1(a.1) C.C

· Forcible Confinement – S. 279(2) C.C

· Break & Enter and Commit – S. 348(1)(a) C.C

· Assault with a Weapon – S. 267(a) C.C

· Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose x 2 – S. 88 C.C

· Flight from Police – S. 320.17 C.C

· Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle – S. 320.13(1) C.C

Steven Veilleux and Jodie Lynn Veilleux have been remanded and are scheduled to make their first court appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Friday, March 6, at 9:30 a.m.

Steven Veilleux is the father of another accused, Brettin Andrew Veilleux-Pelletier, and Jodie Lynn Veilleux is his stepmother.

On the evening of March 3, 2020, Veilleux-Pelletier was the third person arrested by the Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit North in relation to the disappearance of Garrioch (who also used the surname Glasier).

Twenty-one-year-old Brettin Andrew Veilleux-Pelletier of Prince Albert was arrested in Prince Albert and is facing the following charges:

· First Degree Murder – S. 235(1) C.C

· Indignity to a Body – S. 182(b) C.C

· Kidnapping while using a firearm – S. 279(1.1(a.1) C.C

· Forcible Confinement – S. 279(2) C.C

· Break & Enter and Commit – S. 348(1)(a) C.C

· Assault with a Weapon – S. 267(a) C.C

· Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose x 2 – S. 88 C.C

· Disguise with Intent – S. 351(2) C.C

On Feb. 29, the Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit North arrested the first two individuals to be charged in relation to the disappearance of Garrioch’

Twenty-one-year-old Tristan Daniel Morrison of Saskatoon has been charged with:

· First degree murder – S. 235 Criminal Code (CC)

· Indignity to a body - S. 182(b) CC 

· Kidnapping while using a firearm – S. 279(1.1(a.1) CC

· Forcible confinement – S. 279(2) CC

· Break and enter and commit – S. 348(1)(a) CC

· Assault with a weapon – S. 267(a) CC

· Two counts, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose – S. 88 CC

· Disguise with intent – S. 351(2) CC

Twenty-three-year-old Joshua Dominic Canevaro of Saskatoon has been charged with:

· Kidnapping while using a firearm – S. 279(1.1(a.1), Criminal Code (CC)

· Forcible confinement – S. 279(2) C.C

· Break and enter and commit – S. 348(1)(a) C.C

· Assault with a weapon – S. 267(a) C.C

· Two counts, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose– S. 88 C.C

A forensic autopsy was completed March 4, confirming the identity of the remains discovered in the Rural Municipality of Bayne as Allan Douglas Garrioch of Humboldt

The investigation is ongoing.
