Time to get your Blaine Lake cash lotto ticket is running out. There are only two more weeks to purchase your ticket for the Blaine Lake Senior Citizens' Centre cash lotto with a draw date of Oct. 15. Twenty-two cash prizes totaling $125,000 will be awarded with only 2,500 tickets sold.

This year, there has been a 50/50 draw added onto the event. It is necessary to purchase a $100 official lottery ticket to be eligible for the 50/50 purchase. There will be a maximum of 50,000 tickets being sold for the progressive 50/50.

This is the third year for the cash lotto fundraiser for the Blaine Lake Senior Citizens' organization. All proceeds of the lotto will go towards the seniors' centre renovation and expansion project. The expansion doubled the facility's main level space enabling all the recreational equipment and events to remain on one level. Over the course of two years, the facility has seen some major improvements and is now officially open to accommodate local events including meetings, family gatherings, fundraising and social events.

"Even though the main physical portion of the renovations and expansion is completed, there are many other smaller projects that are required or needing upgrading," explained Anne Sitter, one of the lottery co-ordinators.

Rod Kitter, CJWW radio morning host, and Dave Thomas will be in Blaine Lake Oct. 9-12 broadcasting live from the 107 Main Street facility to assist with promoting the lotto and community of Blaine Lake.

Ticket sales are currently selling at a steady pace with anticipated increased sales to occur during the live CJWW radiothon. Ticket sales will close at midnight Oct. 12. Tickets are available at local Blaine Lake businesses or you can purchase your ticket by calling the toll free number 1-877-946-2201.

"Our lottery was very successful last year, selling out the 2,500 tickets by our deadline," commented Sitter. "We continue to need your support in order to help us achieve our renovation and expansion goals."

A barbecue lunch will be held prior to the draw Oct. 15. Everyone is welcome to attend, purchase a hamburger and witness the official draw process.

Last year's $100,000 cash winner was Janetta Breaton of Prince Albert and the $10,000 winner was Lee Ann Olsen of Christopher Lake.
