City council in North Battleford has awarded a tender for 2016 Capital Works Projects - Underground Utilities - Contract 1 work to Unicon Pipeline Ltd. of North Battleford.
Their low bid of $1,598,659.00, excluding GST, beat out three other bidders and will cover 11 projects for underground utilities work that are part of the 2016 UPAR projects, as well as some other projects with an underground component.
The projects are to be done by the end of November. They also include a roadways component that is not included in the tender.
According to City Engineer Bob Anthony, the tender came in under the budget estimate by about 12 per cent. The tender was awarded unanimously Monday.
