Vehicle fire doused before damage was extensive

Battlefords RCMP responded to more than 50 calls for service between 6 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 18 and 6 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19.

Sunday, Sept. 18

9:50 a.m. - Report of a garage being broken into overnight.

11:27 a.m. - Report of an assault at a residence on the 600 block of 102nd Street.

5:06 pm - Report of a break and enter to a residence on 34th Street in Battleford.

11:40 p.m. - Report of unknown people trying to light a vehicle on fire on 100th Street. The vehicle owner was able to put out the fire before it caused too much damage.

Monday, Sept. 19

1:29 a.m. - Report of people going through cars on 28th Street in Battleford.

3:14 a.m. - Request to check up on a child at a residence. Report that no sober parents were watching the child. Members attended and there was a sober person taking care of the child.

4:47 a.m. - Report of a car versus deer collision on Highway 4 south of Battleford. No injuries.

Police also responded to two false/nuisance 911 calls, 12 disturbance/noise complaints, four traffic occurrences, one alarm and police also made four arrests for alcohol related offences.
