Between Tuesday, Aug. 9, 6 a.m. and Wednesday, Aug. 10, 6 a.m., Battlefords RCMP responded to over 50 calls for service during the noted time period, including the following:
Aug. 9
• Three reports of vehicles with slashed tires on Bennett Crescent and Douglas Avenue, believed to have occurred some time on Monday night or the early morning hours of Aug. 9.
• 9:37 a.m. - Report of an attempted theft of a vehicle from rural Battleford.
• 950 a.m. - 18-year-old male charged with failing to comply with probation order after allegation of failing to report a change of address.
• 10:16 a.m. - A red 1997 Dodge Ram 2500 with Saskatchewan license FXC 882 reported stolen from a residence in the rural Battleford area. The vehicle has yet to be located.
• 10:35 a.m. - A blue 2012 Ford Taurus with Saskatchewan license 347 JCR stolen from a residence on the Saulteaux First Nation. The vehicle has yet to be located.
• 12:44 p.m. - Report of a bike stolen from a yard in the rural Battleford area.
• 3:43 p.m. - Sometime between the 6th and 9th of August, a rock was thrown through a window of a home on Blue Jay Crescent.
• 4:37 p.m. - 45-year-old male arrested after a report of intoxicated individuals causing a disturbance on the 1100 block of 101st street and bothering people. Subject has been charged with one count of failing to comply with conditions of an undertaking.
• 6:06 p.m. - Report of a truck colliding with a business on the 500 block of 5th Avenue West in Battleford. No indication of any injuries. Both the vehicle and building did sustain damage. No charges have been laid at this time and the matter remains under investigation.
• 6:59 p.m. - 15-year-old youth arrested at a business on Carlton Trail for theft.
• 10:27 p.m. - Report of a break and enter to a residence on the Red Pheasant First Nation some time between 7 and 8 p.m.
Aug. 10
• 1:12 a.m. - Report of two suspicious males in the area of the 300 block of 29th Street possibly checking out vehicles. Patrols for suspects were not successful.
Police also investigated nine traffic matters, 11 minor disturbance calls, two false alarms, two false/nuisance 911 calls, two Mental Health Act investigations, two Child Welfare Act investigations, one minor collision, one missing person who has since been located and five subjects were arrested for alcohol-related matters.
