The small Village of Krydor comes alive with activity every first and third Saturday of the month with its village market.

This seasonal open air market operates from May 21 to Sept. 3 and features handcrafted items made by local artisans, stamps, coins, new-to-you items and items from independent distributors.

Laurette and Don Thompson of Waldheim displayed personally designed and crafted solar light posts. Using remnants of landscaping timber, the couple creates items that would add beauty to any landscape or outdoor living space. Laurette also creats Eye Spy Bags. This intriguing invention has become popular with children, adults and individuals requiring hand co-ordination or exercise. Made from fleece, the bag resembles a small pillow; the plastic window allows the handler to view the objects. As the individual manoeuvres the plastic beads inside to reveal the hidden objects, the hand-eye co-ordination required creates a therapeutic affect.

Vicki Barlow and Larry Bartsch of Hepburn represented Star City Silver and Stone. A business that offers a variety of quality sterling silver jewelry ranging from earrings and necklaces to rings and bracelets.

Edna Friesen of Waldheim enticed the guests with delicious samples of Sunset Gourmet products. Dips and sauces were available for taste testing. Products range from soup and dip mixes to seasonings and sauces. These products offer a quick and easy way to entertain.

Gold Canyon representative, Shelley Clark, displayed a selection of candles, body and home scented products. The company also offers a selection of environmentally home cleaning products.

Larry Ebach is a frequent vendor in Krydor with his selection of Watkins products. Watkins has built a reputation for quality products that are well accepted by customers. Larry also has a selection of knitted items and postage stamps on offer.

Marvin Ebach of Rosthern had a large selection of his paper and coin currency collection. It was a great opportunity for that serious collector to view and purchase that special piece for a collection.

There was also a selection variety of blown glass objects from Ron Anderson of Shellbrook and fresh baked items, selection of organic flours, and homemade perogies on offer.

The Krydor General Store has also opened for the season. The business offers a selection of antique and collectible items from glassware to furniture. The old store complete with original hardwood is an ideal setting for the business as it complements the history of the community.

Musical entertainment was provided by Ed Bajak and Barbara Dee. Ed has experience with public performances in a number of bands. His instrumental selections were quickly accepted as guests recognized the tunes and gathered to reminisce. Barbara Dee is a recording gospel artist that entertained the crowd with her rendition of Patsy Cline tunes.

Barbecue burgers, salad, desserts and beverages were on offer throughout the day to satisfy appetites.

The next Krydor Village Market will be held June 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. To book a vendor table contact 497-2661 or krydormarket@gmail.com.
