Wannabe car thief described to police

Battlefords RCMP investigated approximately 50 occurrences between 6 a.m. Saturday Nov. 12 and 6 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 13 including the following:

Saturday, Nov. 11

8:28 a.m. - Report of a subject attempting to steal a vehicle on Thompson Crescent in North Battleford. Perpetrator was last observed walking towards St. Laurent Drive and was described as being male, 6' tall with a heavier build and carrying a blanket. 

10:55 a.m. – Report of several youth checking vehicles on the 2100 block of 101st Crescent at about 3 a.m. The matter is believed to be related to three youths arrested for similar offences overnight. 

3:31 p.m. - Report of a residence on Piper Place in Cochin broken into sometime between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. A 55" TV was reported stolen.

7:16 p.m. - Report of personal items, including car keys, stolen from either a vehicle or the front steps of a residence on the 800 block of 106th Street.

11:37 p.m. - A 20-year-old woman was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon after a report of a disturbance on the 1000 block of 110th Street in North Battleford. The adult male victim sustained minor injuries to his face and head. The accused remains in custody and is expect to be released later this date on numerous conditions until her first appearance in North Battleford Provincial Court on Nov. 17. 

Sunday, Nov. 13

2:26 a.m. - A 29-year old-man was arrested and charged with impaired driving and driving while over .08 after a traffic stop at 110th Street and 11th Avenue in North Battleford.

Over this period RCMP also arrested one person for alcohol offences, responded to one false/nuisance 911 call, 16 minor disturbance reports, two child welfare complaints, 14 traffic complaints, one alarm, three Mental Health Act matters, one minor collision and one reported missing person who was located a short time after the report was filed.
