Warrant issued for man after he fails to appear in Meadow Lake court on drug and weapons charges

Police seized crack cocaine, prescription drugs, firearms, and drug trafficking paraphernalia

MEADOW LAKE – A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a man facing weapons and drug charges after he failed to appear in court Nov. 10.

Bernel McLeod, 40, was arrested in July after Buffalo Narrows RCMP raided a residence on Cubby Street. Police seized approximately 136 grams of crack cocaine, prescription drugs, two firearms, two pellet guns that replicate handguns, a number of other weapons, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

Bernel McLeod and Kimberly McLeod, 56, were both charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, tracking drugs, possession of property obtained by crime, two counts of unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of a restricted firearm/prohibited weapon with ammunition when not licensed, and three counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon.

Kimberly McLeod appears next in Buffalo Narrows Circuit Court held in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on Dec. 8 to elect how she wants to be tried.

The charges against Kimberly and Bernel McLeod haven’t been proven in court.
