WDM receives $50,000 donation

North Battleford's Western Development Museum has received a generous donation of $50,000 from the Community Initiatives Fund to pay for a new heating system.

North Battleford's Western Development Museum has received a generous donation of $50,000 from the Community Initiatives Fund to pay for a new heating system.

The Communities Initiative Fund is a special purpose fund created through the Saskatchewan Gaming Corporation Act, and is responsible to the Ministry of Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport. This year it donated nearly $2 million to Saskatchewan community projects, last year it donated $2.2 million.

Communities from Aberdeen to Whitewood received small capital grants, anywhere from a few hundred dollars to the $50,000 maximum that several communities received.

The Western Development Museum's money will be used to install a new heating and air conditioning system in the exhibit hall.
