Two men are facing a long list of Criminal Code weapons charges after La Ronge RCMP investigated a complaint of a shot being fired in a residential neighbourhood of La Ronge Sunday.
Police investigated the report of a single shot fired from a vehicle near the 100 block of Wapos Avenue at about 1:40 a.m.
Police say the vehicle, described as a silver pick-up truck, left the scene and was noted to be travelling westbound after the incident took place. Investigators located a vehicle matching the description and the two men were arrested without incident. According to RCMP, a restricted firearm and ammunition were recovered from the vehicle.
Jarvis Harlin Slinn, 28, of Regina and Ian Andrew McCauley, 30, of La Ronge are charged with: using a firearm in the commission of an offence; careless use of a firearm; possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose; carrying a concealed weapon; unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle; unauthorized possession of a firearm; possession of a prohibited/restricted firearm with ammunition; possession of a weapon obtained by commission of offence; and reckless discharge of firearm.
Both were to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court Monday.
