Welding cable and connectors valued at $1,200 was stolen from a truck parked at a residence in Hillmond, according to Maidstone RCMP. Police say the theft occurred between midnight and 5 a.m.

Copper thefts are on the rise in the area due to the amount of oil field development that is on going, police say.
