A male youth has been charged in relation to Tuesday’s incident in Maidstone that resulted in Maidstone High School and Ratushniak Elementary School being placed in hold and secure mode.
The youth was arrested Tuesday morning at a residence in Maidstone without incident and is facing several criminal code charges. His first court appearance is scheduled for Friday in Lloydminster Provincial Court.
The youth, who cannot be named under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, remains in custody and is charged with uttering threats, mischief, public mischief, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and common nuisance.
Maidstone RCMP say details pertaining to the alleged threat made will be released through court proceedings.
