Youth charged for possession of a weapon

Battleford RCMP responded to 30 calls for service between 6 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18 and 6 a.m. Thursday, Feb 19.

Police responded to two nuisance 911 calls, two minor collisions, one child welfare investigation, six traffic complaints and one missing person who was located.

Wednesday

• Vehicle parked on the 1000 block of 101st Street between 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. had back window smashed out. 

• Three separate shoplifting complaints between 2:30 and 8 p.m. involving same suspect. Has since been arrested. Separate release made with further details.

Thursday

• Report of a domestic dispute on Clark Drive. Two subjects having an argument, which is alleged to have become physical. A 24-year-old man was arrested for assault on scene. Investigation is still ongoing and charges are currently pending.

• A 17-year-old youth arrested at 1:09 a.m. on 8th Avenue, charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and also facing allegation of violation of a community supervision order. 

• Theft of a mini van reported at 1:45 a.m. from Janet Drive in Battleford. Recovered near Wilkie shortly after noon.
