WATROUS — The Watrous-Manitou Beach Heritage Centre will be opening its doors to the public for the first time this week.

The local talking point of Old St. Vital Church has gone national. The old church made the National Trust for Canada’s Top 10 endangered places list, according to a June 18 news release.

A traditional gathering took place Saturday at the gravesite of the eight Indigenous warriors hanged at Battleford in 1885. Several elders and members of surrounding First Nations were there for the ceremony remembering the warriors.
