A special family and friends event was held at the new Giant Tiger store in downtown North Battleford Friday evening, with plans to open to the public at 8 a.m. Saturday morning, with more activities lined up to celebrate.

Battleford town council is another step closer to completing a “proactive” build, which councillors hope will prevent future expensive problems.

HUMBOLDT — An effort to gather the thoughts of business owners about a plan to implement a storefront business licence has begun. “Right now, we don’t know which businesses are in Humboldt because there’s no licensing,” Muench said in late December.

On Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., Battlefords RCMP located a stolen vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle fled from police in to a rural area but ended up getting stuck in a ditch. The occupants of the vehicle fled on foot.

On April 16, Elks Lodge No. 369 members presented a donation to St. Mary School students and staff of the Light of Christ Catholic School Division. This donation goes towards a speech and language program that focuses on fluency.

HUMBOLDT — It will soon be safer for air ambulances and other aircraft that have to land at the Humboldt airport in low visibility weather.

A North Battleford man has been charged by the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation unit.

Saskatchewan’s year-over-year employment increased by 14,200 jobs from April 2018, marking the ninth consecutive month of strong job gains for the province. The job gains were primarily full-time employment, with full-time jobs increasing by 18,000.
