A North Battleford man was sentenced to 4.4 years in prison in La Ronge Provincial Court on May 6.

The fate of a rundown property located at 1102-106th St. was back before North Battleford council on Monday. At the meeting council heard the latest appeal from property owner Zia Waraich of Zia Homes, Ltd.

A man arrested in a drug bust in Saskatoon and Bjorkdale was denied bail May 7. Rudi Betthel, 52, of Bjorkdale was arrested after several police forces teamed up and raided two homes on April 26.

A lawyer representing a North Battleford man accused of killing 24-year-old Daxon Levi Hornick-Schmidt asked for an adjournment to go over disclosure. Dwayne Littlewolfe, 35, had an appearance in Lloydminster Provincial Court May 10.

A show cause hearing didn’t proceed for a Lloydminster woman charged with armed robbery after she changed lawyers. The hearing for 20-year-old Kacey Dillon was adjourned in Lloydminster Provincial Court on May 10.

A preliminary hearing has been delayed for two men accused of a shooting on Onion Lake and several carjackings in Lloydminster where people were allegedly shot at.

NIPAWIN — Nipawin’s Jubilee Arena is receiving about $1.2 million in federal and provincial funding to add four permanent dressing rooms with washrooms and showers.

A man who escaped custody while appearing in Meadow Lake Provincial Court is seeking bail. Christopher Gilbert Ernest, 23, escaped from the courthouse and fled on April 26. He was arrested in Edmonton on May 3 and brought back to Saskatchewan.
