The Battlefords Bantam AA Barons are near the .500 mark heading into the Christmas break.
The Barons played Friday against North East and Sunday against Sask Valley.
Friday, the Barons fell 7-1.
After the first period they trailed just 2-1, but North East scored once more in the second period and pulled away with four goals in the third period.
Dax Desmarais was in net for the Barons while Brandon Lesko had the lone Barons' goal. Brady Hintz assisted on the Barons' first period power play marker.
Sunday, the Barons lost 1-0.
They sit at 6-7-1 on he season and in fifth place in the North Division.
The Barons will be back in action Jan. 5 and 6 as they are on the road to Tisdale and Humboldt.
