The annual Battlefords Indian and Métis Friendship Centre's All Native Stanley Cup took place on the weekend and featured some of the best aboriginal hockey players in western Canada.
This year, just six teams entered in the senior division, which was one of the lowest attended tournaments in years.
Despite the low number of teams, the calibre of hockey was still high. The Indian Army based out of Onion Lake won 6-2 over the Red Pheasant Rebels in the championship game.
Team United won the B final while Canoe Lake earned the third championship.
Six teams also competed in the Legend Division, which was won by the Playboys, as they beat the Hi Tech Rednecks 7-3.
Organizers say they will look at changes to the format for attracting teams to the tournament next season, so it is back up in numbers and once again a cornerstone of the aboriginal hockey season in western Canada.
