Battlefords AAA Stars netminder Lance Alm was kept busy Thursday night in Saskatoon.
Alm made 64 saves at the Schroh Arena as the Stars dropped a 5-1 decision to the Saskatoon Contacts in Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League action.
The Stars also had a strong offensive showing, as they fired 49 shots at Contacts netminder Rayce Ramsay, but Ian Hillis was the only player to find the back of the net with just 59 seconds left in the game.
Quinton Ong led the way for the Contacts with a pair of goals and an assist while Connor Zary had a goal and an assist each.
Chance Adrian and Tanner Robin also scored for the Contacts, who are tied for second in the league with a 10-4-0-1 record.
Next up for the Stars, who now have a 5-7-0-1 record, is a trip to Wilcox this weekend to take on the Notre Dame Hounds.
They will return to the North Battleford Civic Centre on Nov. 17 to face the Beardy's Blackhawks at 7:30 p.m.
