The top four teams in the North Saskatchewan River Hockey League regular season standings are all still standing.

After the first round of four best-of-five series the top teams all advance and will now face off for a chance to play for the championship.

After falling behind 1-0 in the series to Edam, Wilkie won three straight games to win the series. The Outlaws had two goals by both Bobby Bachman and Mike Sittler while Kyle Wagner added a single marker on Thursday in Wilkie. Joel Blaquiere and Brendan Weitzel scored for the 3 Stars in the 5-2 game.

The next night, Wilkie ended the series in Edam with a 3-2 overtime win. Bachman and Sittler scored again for Wilkie while Bruce Yockey had the other goal. Edam's offence came from Blaquiere and Brett Jullion in a chippy game in Edam.

Jared Herle was in net for Wilkie in all four games while Quinton Gauthier manned the Edam net.

Also on Friday night, Meadow Lake ended the series with Spiritwood with a 7-0 win. Dustin Gorst had five points including a hat trick while Darren Caron, Cole Fern, Tedi Hood and Jordan Keller scored for the Stampeders.

Jeff Vidal earned the shutout for the Stampeders in the win.

Wilkie will now face Meadow Lake in the semifinal. In the two games during the regular season between the two teams, Meadow Lake won 5-2 win in Wilkie and had a 6-5 victory later in the season in Meadow Lake.

Maidstone also ended their first round series Friday night. The Jets beat Turtleford 9-5 on home ice.

Brett Harrison had three goals and two assists while Jason Roberts had two goals and two assists in to lead the Maidstone offence in the series-clinching win.

The Jets and St. Walburg Eagles will now face off in the other semifinal. St. Walburg won 5-1 and 5-2 over the Jets when the teams faced off in the regular season.
