North Battleford's own left-handed pitcher Andrew Albers was one of three New Britain Rock Cats selected to the Eastern League All-Star Team.
Albers and his teammates will play Wednesday in Reading, Pa.
Albers is 3-2 with a 3.77 ERA in 14 games, with the Rock Cats this season. Albers hasn't pitched since June 17 due to a back injury, but has won two of his last three decisions. He is third on the team in innings pitched with 71.2, tied for second in team starts with 12 and has the second most strike outs by a Rock Cats pitcher with 54.
The Rock Cats were 47-37 and a half game back of the Eastern League leaders as of Friday.
One position player and one pitcher were selected through online and stadium balloting for the all-star game. The remaining roster spots were filled through voting by Eastern League media, managers and officials. The Eastern Division team consists of players from New Britain, Trenton, Reading, Binghamton, New Hampshire and Portland, which represent the Twins, Red Sox, Yankees, Mets, Phillies and Blue Jays organizations.
