Archers on the mark

As the sport grows and the Battle River Archers club expands so to does its medal count. The Battle River Archers sent some of their best to the provincial indoor 3D championship in Prince Albert.

As the sport grows and the Battle River Archers club expands so to does its medal count.

The Battle River Archers sent some of their best to the provincial indoor 3D championship in Prince Albert.

The shoot was held March 17, and whether it was the luck of the Irish or just that they were on the mark all day, Battle River Archers won nine medals.

Gold medal winners were Raquel Hepp in the female bow hunter open division, in the female cadet compound category Shaylynn Fedler was first and Anson Landrie won the male club compound division.

Silver medalists were Ross McAngus, master compound male; Tyson Mackrell, cadet compound male; Spencer Hepp, pre cub compound; and Ashley Hepp, peewee.

Terrance Landrie won bronze in the male bow hunter open as did Sawyer Day at the peewee level.

The local club with host two shoots in the near and not so distant future, which is open to competitive and non-competitive shooters.

The first shoot will be the annual spring shoot and Saskatchewan Archery Association qualifier April 28 and 29.

The Battle River Archers has also been awarded the 2012 3D outdoor provincial shoot, which will take place July 21 and 22.
