Archery weekend

It was a heavy weekend of archery just north of North Battleford for a large number of participants. The Battle River Archers held a 3D indoor shoot Feb. 4 and 5. There was a great turnout of 244 shooters for the event.

There was plenty of activity north of North Battleford Feb. 4 and 5 as Battle River Archers held a 3D Indoor Shoot. The event saw a huge turnout of archers who competed in several categories. Rob Campbell takes aim during the action Saturday.

It was a heavy weekend of archery just north of North Battleford for a large number of participants.

The Battle River Archers held a 3D indoor shoot Feb. 4 and 5. There was a great turnout of 244 shooters for the event.

Winning the Grand Prix event Saturday was Harvey Geisbrecht, who finished first with a $600 prize. Yastie Perkinskiller finished second with a $350 prize and Milo Swanson was third with a $100 prize. Thirty-six shooters were in the event with payouts going for the top 12.

The results for Sunday's action are as follows:

Men's Compound: first: Brian Hawkins, Wilkie, second: Yastie Perkinskiller, Hinton, Alta., and third Brock Nelson, Battleford.

Ladies Compound: first: Raquel Hepp, Battleford, second: Kathy Lewis, Kyle, and third Chrissy Cote, Meadow Lake.

Men's Recurve: first Travis Skinner, Chauvin, Alta., second: Chris Wakelin, Lloydminster, Alta., and Gary Bosch, Lloydminster, Alta.

Youth Compound: first: Dalton Clouthier, Leask, second: Tyson Mackrell, Battleford, and third Jessie Haug, Outlook.

Cub Compound: first: Lindsay Cannon, Prince Albert, second: Tallin Cemulini, Lloydminster, Alta., third: Lane Cote, Meadow Lake.

Precub: first: Spencer Hepp, Battleford, second Lucas Landrie, North Battleford, and third: Jordan Cemulini, Lloydminster, Alta.

Peewee: first: Dalton Wasden, second: Sawyer Day, Battleford, and third: Ashley Hepp, Battleford.

The event was a huge success for Battle River Archers, who continue to help grow the sport of archery in Saskatchewan. Des and Karen Powers lent their building out to host the event, which was enjoy by all the participants.
