Area teams take home provincial basketball titles

Here are the results for area basketball teams that competed at Hoopla last weekend in Regina: 1A Boys: The Middle Lake Avengers dropped their opening game at Hoopla, a 93-72 loss to Lutheran Collegiate Bible Institute.

Here are the results for area basketball teams that competed at Hoopla last weekend in Regina:

1A Boys:
The Middle Lake Avengers dropped their opening game at Hoopla, a 93-72 loss to Lutheran Collegiate Bible Institute. In the third place game Middle Lake lost a close one to Coronach, 68-59.

1A Girls:
The Middle Lake girls won the provincial championship by winning two close games. They opened things on March 14 with a 73-67 win over Regina Harvest City, moving them into the final against Kenaston. In a hard-fought game, Middle Lake came out on top, 57-52, to claim the Hoopla crown.

2A Boys:
St. Brieux finished third at Hoopla. They lost their opening game, 83-74, to Saskatoon Legacy Christian before defeating Birch Hills 77-72 in the third-place game.

2A Girls:
Two area teams faced off in the Hoopla final when Foam Lake defeated Wynyard, 66-56. Foam Lake, the eventual champions, reached the final by beating Langham 63-56, while Wynyard won their first game by 20, 75-55, over Shaunavon.
