New Horizons curler Jack Goodwin releases the first rock at the Northland Power Curling Centre last week when the New Horizons took to the ice for the first time.

The New Horizons put the clubs away and took out the brooms to take to the ice Oct. 16.

In the morning draw it was Rod Forester, Allan Rogers and Alexander Scott who started the year off on a winning note.

The afternoon saw Bernie Gregoire, Bob Guest and Wayne Lambie come away with a smile. Doug Belyk and Allie Raycraft also were grinning after their game, but because of a tie.

The first rock in the new rink by the New Horizons was sent down the ice by Jack Goodwin. He also was smiling because it was a good one.
