It was an active weekend of minor hockey action at Don Ross Arena and Battleford Arena on the weekend. The event was the Battlefords Minor Hockey Association's Atom A Tournament.

It was another successful competition with a total of 12 teams taking part, including six from the Battlefords: the Sabres, Storm, Avalanche, Penguins, Bruins and Bisons. Also there were teams from Wilkie, Rosetown, Kinistino, Meadow Lake, Prince Albert and Warman.

At the tournament there was plenty of fan and family support, with many out-of-town supporters travelling into the Battlefords to see the kids play.

Six teams were in action in the A, B and C event finales Sunday. In the A final it was Rosetown that knocked off Wilkie 4-2 to claim the A title at Battleford Arena.

In the B final, Meadow Lake won over Kinistino 5-4, while the C side final was a battle of two local teams as the Bisons defeated the Bruins by a 5-4 count. Both the B and C final took place at Don Ross Arena.
