Bantam AA Barons pull off dramatic comeback

The Battlefords Bantam AA Barons faced the top team in the Saskatchewan Bantam AA Hockey League's north division Sunday and had a finish they will not soon forget. The Barons trailed the West Central Wheat Kings 6-3 with 15 minutes left to play.

The Battlefords Bantam AA Barons faced the top team in the Saskatchewan Bantam AA Hockey League's north division Sunday and had a finish they will not soon forget.

The Barons trailed the West Central Wheat Kings 6-3 with 15 minutes left to play. Cue the comeback. The Barons' Kade Mosimann scored on a power play from Josh Sielsky with 11 minutes left. Nearly five minutes later Keegan Tiringer scored from Koby Vidal and Blake Fennig. With two minutes left, the Barons scored on a power play to tie the game. Owen Lamb and Jayden Nachtagaele set up Drake Teer. Lamb capped off the comeback when he scored with 56 seconds on the clock.

The win put the Barons at 6-5-0 on the season while the Wheat Kings fell to 13-2-1. Nachtagaele, Brandon Lesko and Lamb scored earlier in the game for the Barons.

Dax Desmarais was the winning goalie, as he faced 37 shots.

The next action for the Barons will be Sunday at home to the North East Wolfpack at the Battleford Arena.
