The Battlefords Bantam AA Barons remain one of the hottest teams in the league, as they wrapped up their regular season on the weekend. The Barons skated to an 8-6 win against Prince Albert Friday, as they fired 54 shots at the net.

The Barons skated to an 8-6 win against Prince Albert Friday, as they fired 54 shots at the net. Lane Young and Troy Gerein both had three points while Colton Iron had four goals and an assist in the win.

The next day, the Barons ended their regular season with a 2-2 tie against the North East Wolfpack. The Barons were down 2-0 six minutes into the second period, but Iron scored twice in the second period and Wyatt Malenfant closed the door in the Barons' net the rest of the way, earning the 2-2 tie.

The Barons are 7-0-5 in their last 12 games. The Barons last loss on the season was Dec. 18, ironically against the team they will face in the first round of playoffs.

The Barons finished third in the North Division with a 12-6-6 record and will face Humboldt, who had a 3-20-1 record.

The series begins Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Battleford Arena. Game two goes Sunday in Humboldt and if necessary game three is scheduled for Wednesday back in Battleford.
