The Battlefords Bantam AA Barons trailed the Swift Current Raiders 4-0 five minutes into the second period, but that wasn't enough to keep them from earning their first regular season win.
Kirk Glassford got the scoring started for the Barons from Ben Lanferman and Brandon Lesko in the second period.
Later in the second, Colton Iron scored on the power play from Kiefer Hintz and Traye Tkatchuk.
The Barons' offence continued to roll in the third period, as Blake Robertson scored seven seconds into the period from Matt Vidal and Tkatchuk.
Iron scored from Vidal, and later from Hintz for his hat trick goal, which gave the Barons the 5-4 lead.
The scoring was far from over at the point.
Hintz, Robertson and Layne Young added insurance for the Barons while Swift Current netted another goal before losing 8-5 to the Barons.
Both teams had ample power play opportunities, as the Raiders were 4/14 while the Barons were 3/12.
Mathew Flath was the winning goalie facing 34 shots while the Barons peppered Swift Current's goaltenders with 43 shots.
The Barons improved to 1-2-1 in the Saskatchewan Bantam AA Hockey League standings after tying Prince Albert a week earlier.
The Barons next action will be at home to the Notre Dame Hounds in an exhibition game Friday at the Battleford Arena.
