Although it is simply an exhibition game on the schedule between the Notre Dame Hounds and the Battlefords Phoenix Sports AA Bantam Barons, it was a battle to the end between the two teams Friday night at the Battleford Arena.
The Barons went up 1-0 after Colton Iron scored from Ben Lanfermann in the first period. The lead held until the third period, when Wyatt Malenfant was finally beat by the Hounds. The Hounds pushed to take the lead late in the game, but a high stick negated the potential game winning goal and the game ended 1-1.
The 1-1 draw puts the Barons at 2-0-2 in their last four games while the team's Saskatchewan Bantam AA Hockey League record sits at 1-2-1.
The Barons have another week off from the SBAAHL, as their next action will be Nov. 19 in Melfort and Nov. 20 in Prince Albert.
