Oct. 27, the Battlefords Bantam Sharks opened their East Central Alberta Female Hockey League season and did so with a 5-4 win over Viking at the Civic Centre.
The next day, the Sharks travelled to Vermilion and earned an 8-0 victory.
Since then, the Sharks have also played Lloydminster at the Civic Centre and Meadow Lake at the Agriplex and split those games.
The Sharks' offence has been led by Sydney Geering, who scored three goals and added one assist in the team's first game. In the win over Viking, Nicole Paskamin added a goal and an assist, while Dakota Peterson scored the Sharks fifth goal. Misty Bird added two assists andDawria Dickson picked up the win in goal.
Dawria earned the shutout against Vermilion and again Sydney had a hat trick. Jordyn Tuck and Misty added a goal and an assist each. Kaitin Ahenakew, Nicole and Camrynn Simon completed the goal scoring for the Sharks. Matheson Colliar chipped in with two assists as well.
The Sharks won their third straight 7-1 over Lloydminster. Kaitin, Sydney, Jordyn, Nahoni Tootoosis, Misty and Dakota all scored for the Sharks while Dawria surrendered just one goal.
The Sharks first loss of the season game Sunday at the hands of Meadow Lake, as they were outscored 7-2.
Sydney extended her scoring streak while affiliated player Camrynn scored the other Sharks' goal.
Next on the schedule for the Sharks is a tournament in Aberdeen Friday and Saturday.
