The Battlefords Atom AA Barons Tier 1 team finished second at a tournament in Prince Albert last weekend.
There were 10 teams in the tournament divided into two pools. The Barons opened the tournament with a 3-1 win over the Saskatoon Renegade Xtreme Friday night.
They played three games Saturday. Their first game was a 2-2 tie with the Flin Flon Bombers. The Barons' next game was a 6-3 victory over the Prince Albert Thunder. Battlefords' final game of the round robin was a 4-2 win against the Prince Albert Sharks. The Barons finished first in their pool.
In the semifinals, the Barons defeated Lloyd KFC 6-0 to qualify for the A final against the Sharks.
The Barons played a strong game in the final. It was a scoreless tie until the Sharks scored with 30 seconds remaining to win the game.
